This rare 8 Reales silver coin was found by Mel Fisher at the Atocha Shipwreck site.  It was certified and signed by Fisher, guaranteeing that it was minted between 1619-1622.  The Minting took place at Potosi, Peru during the reign of Philip III.  The weight is 24.9 grams and the coin is Grade 2, signifying the wonderful condition that it is in.  What makes this piece even more exceptional is its amazing display case.  This case was custom made with beautiful wood and an artist's depiction of the ship.  It also includes an amazing second display piece which is a disk made of pure silver and gold plated.  This is a reproduction of the gold disks found on the Atocha.  There are approximately 7 ounces of pure silver in this disk!  A very rare opportunity to own a piece of history.
